SAVERS Team Undergo Training
Angel Dane Bendijo | The SciHigh Torch - September 1, 2014 As part of the yearly activity, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, Negros Oriental – Siquijor Council carried out of rare activity experience, the team training for the aspiring models of wit and excellent leadership held at Camp Lily I. Gamo, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, during the 15th to 17th day of August 2014. There were many activities implied during the three – day event. It includes the merry opening ceremony followed by the presentation of Participants and resource person led by the Council Executive Mrs. Razzil P. Nocete together with the Council President, Hon. Mariant E. Villegas and the Diploma’d Trainer, Council Board Member, Miss Rosario B. Rosales. The follow-up activities required great skills and coordination, capabilities and perseverance, and these characteristics are suggested by the Provincial Fire Marshal, Chief Inspector William V. Tacaldo, Jr. during the skill-testing activity in which campers underwent certain challenges as part of the training. And of course, such symposium for some certain tips on rescue and first-aid kit would definitely complete the entire event, plus the concept of the climate change, and other relevant subject of becoming aware of the world’s changes. The SPB chairperson, Romae Chanies Marquez served as the Emcee in every part of ceremony. The team training contributes a lot to the learning experiences of more 200 selected students from different schools especially during the video presentation of the monograph focusing on the freedom for the feminine and the vitality for one’s life and dignity. The on-the-spot essay writing about Josefa Llanes Escodas’ Life and Legacy was participated by the 4th year high school student of MSHS, Ercel Lee and fortunately one of the four chosen students who proceed to the regional level in line with the topic of applications of Escodas’ virtues in our own way. Mrs. Remelou Medinilla served as the GSP coordinator of the Manjuyod Science High School and joined the remarkable lifetime experience of the GSP participants. |
Students and Teachers celebrate joint Math and Science Month
Bave R. Rodriguez | The SciHigh Torch - October 1, 2014 At the beginning of September 2014, the MSHS students have worked together in cooperation with the Math coordinators, Mrs. Precy F. Miasco, Mrs. Anabelle A. Medenilla, and the Science coordinators, Mrs. Mary Jane C. Cacas and Mr. Heikki Babor. The concerned individuals worked as one to contribute in the MathSci Celebration as one of the essential activities in the school year 2014. The union of the two major events brought a lot of fun and extreme experiences for the participants as well as to all the students. The SSG (Supreme Students Government) officers formulated a vast load of exciting activities including the Slogan and Poster Making, plus the Mental-Capabilities Games (Decathlon), the Tesselation and Modulo Art Contests, MathSci Exhibit (includes displaying of artworks relevant to Math and Science), the Collage Making, and others. All these events were successfully done in the morning session of September 30, 2014. At exactly 1:00 in the fair afternoon, the program started with Ercel Lee Sy as the Lady of Ceremonies together with aid of all the committees. The main highlight of the event includes the Junk Band Competition and the Math Sayaw Competition which were actively participated in by all the students to expand their learning experiences and to contribute fun and ideas of the said event.
